The FAC Type 70 was designed in 1943 as a light, fast ground attacker. Featuring an 1800 hp Rolls-Royce Griffon engine driving contra-rotating propellors in a pusher configuration, it was one of the most unique planes of the war. This, the Night Terror version, featured 8 Browning M2 machine guns and a powerful radar set. Although the plane had not originally been designed as a fighter, this proved more than effective as a night fighter.
