The Shinden was a local fighter prototype built by the Imperial Japanese Navy towards the end of World War II. It was also called the "Heretic Wing" due to its unique forward-winged fuselage shape.[1] It was planned to be a high-speed fighter with a top speed of over 400 knots (about 740 km/h), and the prototype was completed in June 1945 (Showa 20), with test flights taking place in August of the same year before the end of the war. Its abbreviation was J7W.
