[ An older AWACS plane with newer technology ]
[ Description ]
The Alastair Al 121 is a licensed Skypark version of the Grumman G-698 V/STOL. Originally, the plane used a unique system of integrated antennas instead of the usual radom, to allow the tinting engines to function. This system, while effective, was rather difficult to maintain. New developments have led to the system being simplified, allowing better usage of the integrated radar, without the difficulties of maintenance.
[ Controls ]
- Standard Control layout
- VTOL up: tilt engines forward.
- AG8: disable gyros.
Takeoff and landing(on USS Beast)
Takeoff
1. Have throttle at minimum of 33%
2. Ascend to a decent altitude above carrier
3. VTOL up, keep plane level
4 Once above 220mph, turn off AG8
Landing
1. Line up with aircraft carrier from behind
2. Be at least three miles away from aircraft carrier
3. Turn on AG8
4. Reduce throttle to between 22% and 26%
5. Once speed is around 240mph, put VTOL to neutral.
6. Manage descent, keep throttle between 22% and 26%(though if you need to descend faster, reduce further)
[ Notes ]
- The plane can takeoff using the catapult.
