The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American combat aircraft developed and manufactured by Fairchild Aircraft from 1972 to 1984. It was the first aircraft dedicated especially for close air support of ground forces, with ground attack characteristics, with excellent maneuverability at low altitudes and speeds, constituting a highly reliable platform, targeting buildings, tanks, infantry or other vehicles
