The PB2 Flying Boat offers a great combination of amphibious operation and excellent in-air handling qualities. Its twin propeller propulsion plant allows for long flight ranges at a slower speed. Twin pontoons (braced to the main wing) offer stability for water taxiing and air brakes will bring the PB2 to a graceful stop. Finally, an all-moving horizontal stab allows for pitch trim adjustments - particularly useful during the approach glide. Use the left hand trim slider to relax column forces - pull aft (down) on the slider for nose-up trim.
NOTES TO PILOT:
Use caution on runway takeoffs to prevent striking the vertical stabs.
Keep about 10% power on final approach to prevent stalls (around 90 mph) and maintain aft stick during water landings during air braking to keep the nose from dipping.
