GSS-670 "Skewer"

Needle of the Far North

The GSS-670 "Skewer" is a supersonic transport pitched to the Government of Canada at discounted price as thanks for the decades Graingy was granted near hands-off use of their northern territories.

The Skewer is a narrowbody four-abreast aircraft distinguished by its continuous windows, marking a grand improvement in passenger visibility over the SSTs of the past. Capable of carrying up to 272 passengers in economy configuration, the Skewer can cross the continent in only a few hours while boasting reasonably economical operating costs.

Each of its four engines generates 270kN in afterburner, propelling the aircraft at speeds up to over 2900km/h at 18,000m altitude.

In comparison to a Sandude-operated Graingy 220

    Note: The Weight Simulators, while ugly, are something you should be thanking me for. This aircraft already has over 700 parts (wait, really!? Man, things got out of hand!) and seats are surprisingly expensive performance-wise.

    @Maluch No, absolutely not. This is its own post first and foremost and will not be tied to anything. If it cannot be part of the challenge without being a successor, then it will not be part of the challenge period.
    @crazyplaness do not under any circumstances make this a successor post.

    @Boeing727200F The non-discounted price for one aircraft is equivalent to approximately $450 million USD.
    @Subsere How so?
    @SuperSuperTheSylph Long indeed. 85m!
