my entry to the crown of doom challenge
uses missiles that split into 2
lore:
The year is 1999, and with the F-114 upgrade program nearing completion, designers had some time to take a step back. The 114’ had ushered in the 5th generation of advanced fighter aircraft and had proved its worth as a strike fighter and stealthy ground attacker, but it was clear a dedicated air superiority fighter was needed . . .
With big shoes to fill, and an even bigger budget, design work began on a new prototype. Known only as project 602 it was to be a 6th generation stealth fighter with the sole role of air superiority. By the 2010s, a prototype was finally in the air.
The design used canards combined with swept wings for high maneuverability, and efficiency. The angle of incidence on the canards was adjustable, enabling better handling at low speed, while the wingtips swiveled down at high speed, in order to take advantage of shock wave lift. to preserve the stealth coating at high speed, engine bleed air was diverted through small channels underneath the aircraft skin, and eventually expelled through gaps located at the joints of the control surfaces.
It was propelled by a pair of the largest after-burning engines available, which were jointed together to form a single massive power unit for a slimmer profile. In order to extend engine lifetime, the internal temperature was carefully regulated by an intricate control-loop, with nitrous oxide injection enabling improved cooling and fuel burn. This advanced power plant gave the 602’ the ability to supercruise, and sustain high speed flight for hours.
It was equipped with an arsenal of advanced missiles including the unique “Splitter” missiles. These missiles could divide into smaller missiles at close range in order to conserve ammo. This effectively doubles the missiles at close range from six to 12. These radar guided missiles are complemented by a pair of Pike-2E, and 4 DART M-1, IR missiles.
In the end however, the plane would remain only a prototype, 1 of 1; an ease in global tensions, paired with budget cuts halted any further development.

I wanted to add more but ran out of time due to finals testing. Hope you enjoy :D
