[ Skypark's latest stealth destroyer ]

[ Description ]

The Iota class are steath destroyers built to replace the aging Iroquois class in the face of a radical shift in technology. Serving the role of air defense, their primary mission is to shoot down any airborne threats to the fleet, as opposed to ships like the Kappa class and Theta class with are oriented towards anti-sub and anti-ship respectively.

In the face of a threat unlike anything before, it was realized that the Iroquois class was woefully inadequate to face the siren threat, along with the general movement towards stealth ships. A military-wide development program was instituted to produce suitable replacements for the older weapons in time to fight the sirens before they inevitably destroy all the outdated systems. The Iota class was the culmination of massive leaps in technology gained from captured sirens and deals with the United States, combining the stealth abilities of the Zumwalt class with the advanced computers and fusion reactors of the sirens.
