story :
The H-974 was a Zedonian submachine gun designed prior to the Second World War and used the Z-Army ground forces. It was derived from a small arms development program that took place between 1929 and 1932 under the control of the Kirvel Arms Center. A submachine gun, a light machine gun and a semi automatic rifle were developed to replace all the existing small arms that started to be outdated during the begining of the conflict.

At the begining, the army was only armed with semi-automatic weapons, and obselete rifles. In 1930, General Henry Liberhardt, head of the Z-Army ground forces, ordered the creation of a powerful submachine-gun. Steinhalm and Beffenzedung, two rival arms manufacturers, decided to jump on the occasion, and both showed their prototypes to the army's council, the answer was obvious : on one hand, Steinhalm's prototype has a better range, and is a lighter than it's rival, but on the other hand, Beffenzedung's prototype is way more reliable, robust, and carries more ammunition. As such, the Council allowed the mass production of this submachine-gun in late 1935.

This weapon was a really powerful weapon, over 880 000 of them were produced, in diifferent variants, some of them were even used by resistance fighters occupied by the Z-Empire.
