Does anyone know how to put a delay on a parachute?

I need some help on a project. All I need is to put a delay on a parachute but I just can't figure it out. this is just a random build I didn't want to publish because it didn't come out the way i wanted but here it is anyways. This plane is not a part of the project that i need the parachute for so please dont try to fix it. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated! And stay tuned for the build if i get some help.

    Open xml editor, choose Parachute from the drop down box and in the Activation Group type exactly this
    floor(smooth(clamp01(Activate1),0.25))

    I think a command is usable for this: firingDelay. I use it when launching bombs and torpedoes at lightspeed, so perhaps that works for parachutes too. Take my idea with a GRAIN OF SALT.
