Afer the great success of the Elephant, the USAF put out a request for a heavy bomber with an internal bomb bay. The plane that was accepted was the XB-948. The XB-948 could carry any of the bombs that the retired Mammoth could carry. The XB-948 eventually entered full service. This version carries 14 boom 50s. VTOL up for bomb bay control.
