C-RAM 130 Centurion

24.4k Reiy11  11 hours ago

The C-RAM "Centurion" is a cutting-edge Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) designed to provide rapid, reliable defense against short-range threats on the battlefield. Developed primarily for countering rockets, artillery, mortars (RAM), unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and even low-flying aircraft, it serves as a critical last line of defense for military installations, forward operating bases, and high-value assets.

At its core, the system features a modified M61A1 Vulcan 20mm Gatling gun, capable of firing up to 4,500 rounds per minute with exceptional accuracy. Integrated with advanced radar and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, it can detect, track, and engage targets in real time—even in low-visibility conditions. The Centurion’s automated engagement sequence ensures swift response, while its modular design allows for easy deployment and integration with existing defense networks.

Proven in combat zones like Iraq and Afghanistan, the Centurion has demonstrated its ability to neutralize incoming threats before they cause damage. Its compact footprint and mobile configuration make it suitable for both fixed and expeditionary operations, embodying the modern military’s demand for agile, multi-mission defense solutions that safeguard personnel and infrastructure with unparalleled efficiency.

How to Fire?

First, you need to activate AG2, a device designed to stabilize the vehicle (though failing to activate it will not affect firing). Once the hydraulic support legs have stabilized, select either the air-to-ground or air-to-air mode. If there are targets within range, the CIWS will automatically calculate the ballistic trajectory and lead offset—you only need to press the fire button to engage.

If the target is at a longer distance or moving at high speed, the ballistic calculation may be inaccurate. In this case, you can choose to manually calibrate the trajectory. You need to switch to the camera named CIWS—in this view, sliding the perspective allows direct control of the CIWS. Of course, you’d better enable Predictor in the Quality Settings.
