V-4 Petrel

630 Astray  3.8 years ago

V-4 is a heavy transport aircraft designed for Advanced VTOL Aircraft (AVA) project. It is equipped with four omnidirectional engines which enable it to work as either a helicopter or a plane. It also has an auto hovering system and a landing assistant system, simplifying your work.

Instructions:

AG1: Control the cabin. Pull down VTOL to open the cabin.
AG2: Landing Assistant System
AG3: Navigation Lights
AG5: Auto Hovering System
AG6: Helicopter Mode
AG7: Plane Mode
AG8: Main Power
Trim: Pitch Trim.

Auto Hovering System:

Auto hovering system is an assistant system designed for helicopter mode. With this system on, the aircraft can automatically hover. Additionally, when the throttle is at 40%-95%, the aircraft will precisely maintain its altitude; When the throttle is lower than 40%, the aircraft will drop; When the throttle is higher than 95%, the aircraft will slowly climb. We don’t recommend you to continuously climb the aircraft under the hovering mode, because it may cause slightly shaking sometimes.

Landing Assistant System:

Landing assistant system only serves for vertical landing. It is actually a ground proximity buffer automatically controlling the engine power to maintain your vertical touching speed at about 0.5 m/s. We highly recommend you to use this landing assistant system with the auto hovering system. With these two systems on, you can just reduce the engine power and let the aircraft drop down, it will accomplish an auto soft touching down at the position right under it. Of course, you can also use the system just under the helicopter mode, allowing you to adjust the landing position by yourself.

Precautions:

  1. Auto Hovering System and Landing Assistant System are designed only for Helicopter Mode, please never turn they on under the Plane Mode. Also, Helicopter Mode also conflicts with Plane Mode. In short, make sure AG2, AG5 and AG6 is off when AG7 is on.
  2. Auto Hovering System and Landing Assistant are not support for windy environment. You may have to fly the aircraft manually under a windy condition.
  3. Do not fly the aircraft with no flying mode is activated. In the other word, when you are flying, make sure there is one AG is activated between AG6 and AG7.
  4. If you want to do a shifting from Helicopter Mode to Plane Mode in the air, we recommend you to reach a forward speed of at least 100 km/h, which can make the shifting smoother.
  5. Theoretically, Auto Hovering System can work independently, but we highly recommend you to activate it always with the Helicopter Mode. Because the aircraft may rotate in situ sometimes, although the system can maintain its position. With the Helicopter Mode on, you can fix it manually in this situation.
  6. The aircraft control system is highly programed, do not change the input of components arbitrarily. But it is welcome for you to discuss the possible optimization of the programs with us.
