Originally developed for the K-94b specification, including a range longer than that of the K-94a spec bomber and a cannon, the Jouto-Ude aviation company modified their first aircraft, the G1J to become the K-88J3, but experimentation went underway to develop a better aircraft for the role. such large an aircraft would obviously create a lot of drag, so Jouto-Ude invited the Master of the Air Force to witness the testing performance of the aircraft. What he saw was the Jouto-Ude G2J. the G2J was significantly smaller than the G1J, and the propellers were moved much closer together. The wing was swept back as an experiment to improve high speed travel. What the Master of the Air Force witnessed was impressive. In a mock dogfight, the G2J flew circles around the G1J, but when the aircraft touched down, the pilot reported dramatic instability at lower speeds, such that he had to fight to keep the aircraft from spinning as a result of stalling. The engines proved extremely temperamental, and nearly overheated when taking off. With modifications to the airframe and engine nacelles, the handling did improve considerably, as did the engine's cooling capacity, but it nonetheless got rejected by the infant Air Force. However, the Master of the Navy heard of the aircraft, and opted to test the aircraft as a carrier-based fighter. Nicknamed "Aiko" by the men who flew her, the aircraft carrier's already moving speed compensated for the tendency to overheat at low speeds, and the aircraft proved sufficiently stable enough to land on a carrier, albeit above 90 mph.

Note: Use Launch Countermeasures for full power, but only above 160 knots indicated.
