Tongue Download PDF Follow up Edit The Zulfiqar tank is a completely Iranian tank. The first prototype of the Zulfiqar tank was designed in 1372 and its production line was opened in the summer of 1376 in the Shahid Kolahdoz industrial complex and has been used by the Iranian armed forces since 1377. [1] Zulfiqar has a 125mm cannon, the same suspension system as the early M60 models. It uses the Slovenian AFCS-3 fire control system with the ability to fire on the move, and its appearance is similar to the M48, M60 and M1 Abrams tanks of the US Army. Some of the components of this tank are the same as the Safir tank, the Iranian optimized model of the Soviet T-54 and Chinese Type 59 tanks.
