Gutentag mein followers! Today I present, for my 1k special, the do-217 N-2 NachtJager! (Night fighter). I was bored the other day, and so I decided to browse the SP website, and to my utter shock, NO ONE had made a schrage müsik machine! So I have devised a simple and cunning way of shooting down poor wellingtons. And with that, on with the show! Takeoff: I have found a simple and gentle way to bring this behiumoth into the air. Simply throttlle to full, drop trim to about 3/4, and let the over-engineered and suseptible to conbustion autopilot lift off for you! Once in the air, asuming your engine hasn’t exploded, drop trim to 50% while around 200ish mph, and just a tad under that while at cruising speed (around 260ish mph). Schrage mode: now the moment you’ve all been waiting oh so dearly for! The process of switching from front-to top guns is simple. Step 1: de-activate group 8 (forward firing guns) and activate group one (schrage müsik). Step 2: Go from cockpit view into cam 1 and raise camera until you can just barely not see the nose of the plane. If you’ve placed your camera correctly the müsik should be firing in the top 15% of your screen. Now don’t worry! I know there isnt a gun sight, but aiming is so simple you don’t need one, allow me to explain. Because you are attacking an aircraft that has the same velocity as you but slightly higher, you dont actually have to give lead. And because the guns are so close to the camera, it appears to be a near solid beam of fire, making aim easy. So how do you aim? Well as you’ve probably noticed, there is no gunner controlling the canons, in fact they are fixed to the roof mount, meaning you (the pilot) aim via steering the aircraft (also very easy). Oh yeah, there is also a useless Hans in the belly who controls a gun (also fixed because i’m lazy) activated by group 2.
