VLS is the abbreviation for Vertical Launching System.
In SP, missiles do not need to be rotated with the radar in the cockpit, so, we could model VLS in SP.
this is a demonstration, you should drag the red handle in the bottom of the box to save as a subassembly, then, in your model, add the VLS box with the missile in it.
in this model, I tried only two missiles, one air to air, the bigger one air to surface, you could change to another missile, I have changed the parameters of my missiles in this model via overload plugin, max angle, max speed, and other parameters, this help me search, track target and launch missile more easily when in battle, you must install the overload plugin to learn how to adjust the details of missile. you could add any number of boxes in your model not only 8.
Also, a radar cockpit is modeled here, just push VTOL slider forward, the cockpit will be raised very very high in the sky, also, I adjust this with the overload plugin, so high to search and lock the beast carrier far away from Wright island easily, and I launch the missile to bomb the carrier down into the sea, so easily, but the destroyers cannot attack me because I'm so far away from them, hahaha, you could try this! But, I don't know why I cannot drag my radar as a whole to save as a subassembly, how to help you reuse the radar cockpit in your models?
in the final, as the radar cockpit is high in the sky, it will be detected and attacked easily, so, chaff and flare are added with an infinite number, and guns are added aiming forward with radar heading, so, if any missile coming, press V to launch countermeasures and press space to shoot the coming missile, also, the guns are modified to enlarge the volume of power, you do not need to aim accurately at the coming missile
