Kavik Dynamics / Dulshire ElectronicsOspretanian Naval Forces / Ospretanian Air ForceRole: Carrier-Based Fighter-BomberEra: Late 1950s – Early 1960sThe F-79CM Stormfire was a rugged, single-engine, carrier-capable fighter developed by Kavik Dynamics for the Ospretanian Naval Forces (ONF) and Air Force (OAF) as a successor to the F-74N Dove. Designed during the transitional years between early jet and missile-age aviation, the Stormfire emphasized balanced handling, stability, and raw pilot control.Powered by the Kavik-Dunwell KJ-107A turbojet, the F-79CM delivered excellent throttle response and low-speed agility. It wasn’t the fastest aircraft in Ospretanian service, but it could — as pilots proudly said — “fight in a phone booth and win.” Its performance in sustained turning engagements made it one of the most formidable dogfighters of its time. Dulshire Electronics provided the aircraft’s compact, analog fire-control radar and basic gunsight — typical for the era, when automation and advanced avionics were still in their infancy. The CM model also introduced improved flight controls, stronger carrier landing gear, and compatibility with early infrared-guided missiles, while retaining its internal cannon armament for close-range air combat. The F-79CM represents the height of Ospretanian first-generation jet design — a bridge between the all-gun fighters of the early 1950s and the more advanced, automated F/A-79D Stormfire that followed. While later aircraft introduced onboard automation and fly-by-wire systems, the CM remains beloved by pilots for its hands-on flight feel and pure, mechanical precision.
