Luchibat6's First Plen with some modifications to wing position and fuel placement to improve the flying characteristics. Ah, yes. I also gave it a combined flaps/air brake system.... and played a little with the paint tool
As the original came without landing gear, I decided not to add any as well, but give it a jetissonnable trolley for takeoff. Landing is done on the central skid. I read that the French experimented with something like this in the 1950's. Basically an interceptor that was as lightweight as could be done, able to be towed to a highway and take off on a dolly, then land on some nearby pasture or beach... Preferably -or this was at least the idea- after it had rocketed towards any enemy bomber formation and gave them a good scrubbing of cannon fire.
So here I went and just like the original used lots of funky trees to automatically jettison the dolly and deploy the brake parachute. And just like the original prototype I was so hell-bent on refining the concept that I forgot to add any armament.
Takeoff:
Pull VTOL slider down to deploy flaps and revv up throttle. Airplane will rise at about 175 mph. At 300 mph it will automatically jettison the dolly. (If you need to ditch it beforehand, push 'retract landing gear' ) Retract flaps again (push VTOL slider into top half) , climb to desired altitude and set course for target.
Landing:
Push Trim slider all way up to unlock braking parachute. (Light under the parachute will start to blink.) Decrease power and line up with runway. Decrease power to about 20% and deploy flaps (VTOL slider down). On the last stretch of approach, kill engine and use (air)brake to bleed off speed. As soon as nose starts to sink, release brake again and steer to keep nose up. Do this several times as you sink onto runway at 200 mph. Just before touchdown, the braking chute will deploy automatically.
Carrier landing:
Same procedure, only instead of pushing Trim lever up, push it down to deploy tailhook.
Again:
This planewas originally built by Luchibat6 and he deserves most of the credits.
Happy Landings

@Sockdragger yeah
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 that's the beauty of SimplePlanes. You can crash as often as you want and just reload and try again. Plus the jet fuel doesn't dissolve your skin on contact like the C-Stoff reagent of the Me-163 did.
But otherwise, landing is actually pretty smooth
let's hope it fares better than the Me-163
Damn cool, i'm working on the third UAV based on this one, i like where My work is going
