The Zweihander is the Blessed Germanic Empire's standard heavy fighter. A polivalent design with night fighter, interceptor and recon variants, it can be seen in many ways as a companion to the Spiess bomber, as it was originally designed as an escort for that type and as a long-range strike fighter in the vein of the Iberian Sidehill Gouger.
Within the Imperial air force, Zweihander pilots are considered to be the elite among the field, expected to not just escort Spiess bombers but also precede them by attacking air defenses, radar and lookout installations, and airfields.
The aircraft depicted here is a strike aircraft, armed with the typical complement of 4 20 mm cannons and a 30 mm gun, as well as an internal and external payload.
