After battling through countless roadblocks, I’ve finally pushed out v0.8. Here’s the rundown.
About the vehicle
This thing comes from the anime-style game I’ve been following, Project Cedar (no idea if you’ve heard of it). During the devs’ first live-stream they flashed an interior diagram—so blurry it might as well have been a Slavic impressionist painting. No HD version exists, so every bulkhead you see below is half guess-work, half “I reckon it goes here.”
In essence it’s a BTR riding backwards, yet the side doors stay. Quoting the team: “We stripped most of the BTR flavor, but kept the doors so you still know it’s a BTR.” Armament is the vintage 2A28 Grom now; lore promises future swaps to 2A42, 2A72, even a 2A46 if you’re feeling spicy.
Interior layout
Engine shoved up front, turret slid to the middle, troop compartment wedged in the rear. Yes, the hull grew longer—there’s room for eight seats, but I capped it at six to stay faithful to the blueprint. Theoretically amphibious, yet with that forward weight bias I’d bet money it noses-under the moment it touches water. That’s why amphibious mode is still disabled (and, well, my code isn’t ready either).
The turret still looks experimental—first time I’ve tried this layout—so forgive the awkward angles. Friends keep telling me the hull’s too stretched; I sort of agree, but the overall length matches a real BTR-82A. Blame the chibi art style: when everything is squashed and cute, proportions get… flexible.
Cover art confession
I planned a proper render, but Andrew changed the download workflow and my translator-addled brain gave up. Instead I slapped a year-2000 filter over an AI image—fitting, since Project Cedar is set in 2000—and called it a day.
Controls
Activate1 – lower half of side door
Activate2 – upper half of side door
Activate4 – lights
Yaw – turret traverse
VTOL – gun elevation
Trim – throttle (don’t try turning above 60 km/h unless you fancy a free centrifuge ride)
Roll – vehicle steering
One last thing: this blurb was still AI-generated (AI is just too handy—way better than any clunky translator). Whether it introduced any fresh errors, I can’t tell; I can only double-check by re-translating the English back into Chinese and seeing if it still makes sense. So if anything comes out sideways, kindly avert your eyes and soldier on.
An hour after upload, while skimming Bilibili reposts of YouTube comments, I learned the game’s actual English title—so shocking I had to yank the champagne cork back out and patch the plaque. Cheeki breeki, nothing more to say.
