P-17 Skydart

4,880 JB56  4.0 years ago

The P-17 Skydart is the first in a small series of aircraft I created that is centered around an air cooled, V12 powerplant. Air is still a popular method for engine cooling, but having an air cooled engine in a V configuration is a cooling choice that has not really been used since the late 1930's. The P-17 is powered by a 500HP V12 engine attached to a three blade constant speed propeller. To maximise the performance from the small engine, the fuslage frontal area was kept as small as possable. The wings were also designed very thin, taking advantage of a multi spar design. Firepower consists of one .50 caliber machine gun that fires through the propeller hub supplemented by a pair of .30 Caliber machine guns, one in each wing. Fully detailed cockpit inside. Enjoy
