With the new beta, I started messing around with the customizable props and the pitch and all that. I've created a drone-like helicopter thingy that gets all of it's controls from the prop pitch. Throttle up to 100 and mess around with the pitch (VTOL slider) to take off. It's a little tricky when you first start off, but you'll get the hang of it.
