The F-30 program was started in 1957 after "complaints" from pilots about the F-204n it was designed by the navy with the help of vord to address the "issues" with the F-204 after 2 years the first prototype flew in late 1959, after 3 more years of development it entered full service with the navy. it was praised by pilots and was continually upgraded and kept in service for decades.
