Raven Starfighter

53.4k Ephwurd  6.5 years ago

Sorry for the re-upload, I had to fix an issue with this build's maneuverability after it has emptied its payload. Pls enjoy!

Controls:

  • Standard plane controls.
  • AG1 for afterburners
  • AG2 + VTOL to extend/retract AA missile pods
  • AG3 + VTOL to extend/retract AG missile pods
  • AG4 for gyroscope
  • V for countermeasures. Don't worry, you have an infinite supply.

Commissioned in 3175, the Raven is the third stealth starfighter to serve to Continuum Defense Force following the Skystalker interceptor and the Obulon strike bomber. Once again combining the best qualities of an aerospace fighter and a starfighter, the Raven became a quick favorite of most new and seasoned military pilots. The Raven serves as a multirole fighter, capable of being both a medium air superiority fighter or a light gunship to suit its mission parameters. The Raven is armed with a nose-mounted 30mm auto-coilgun and two wing-mounted heavy laser repeaters, giving it a very high damage output, and unlike the Skystalker which relied on specialized pylon-mounted external missile pods for carrying its payload, the Raven features 4 retractable missile pods capable of carrying a total of 26 missiles, which is a lot for a vessel its size. Perhaps the most notable features of the Raven, and why it became such a crowd favorite, is its armor and jump capability. The Raven is the first small vessel to have a full nyctitium weave hull, giving it a very high degree of survivability. Due to this the Raven can take sustained fire from multiple gun emplacements, ranging from 20mm AA guns to even point defense batteries of mainline capital warships and a small railgun. The Raven also has an expanded fusion core that gives it the ability to jump up to 3 AU without losing significant jump accuracy, making it the 2nd-longest ranged Interdictor-Class spacecraft and giving it a very wide operating area. While it is an excellent war machine, Ravens are still a rare sight, as their expensive production cost limit their numbers and a heavily-damaged Raven is tricky to repair due to its advanced internal systems and expensive components.
