INDIANA JONES TANK

1,014 Dominik  8.7 years ago

D'aero'M SP DIV proudly present vehicle from IJ AND THE LAST CRUSADE - Mark VII tank .
In this vehicle was prisoned Marcus Brody and on this beast dead villain - Col. Ernst Vogel .

I tried hardly to match curves of the film tank .
This tank ride on wheels and thanks to it's body every ,,difficult terrain" can stop the tank but it's WWI tank its not important ;) . Thanks to 2 jet engines this tank is fast . Remember that movie tank's top speed was about 20 mph so under 10 % could be right deal (you can give it more in ,,difficult terrain") .
Thanks to 9 cameras (and cockpit) you can sit at driver , main turret gunner , sponson gunner , captain , periscope soldier or in-tank soldier's seat . Turret can move , sponsons not .
The turret rotate speed is 50% so be careful (sometimes you can turn the tank by moving with turret ;) ) .

Controls : yaw - turning , roll - turret rotation .

Enjoy

NOTE : Because of asymmetric engines position it can turn to left .

@ian1547 Thanks for upvoting this tank . I checked your creations , looks great but I can't run them (because of my crappy device) . Can you make something ,,cheaper" :) ?

@Martijnproper Yeah , oranges , bananas even clothes were problematic ... Now it's history . Sometimes we have more than we want . Have you visited Prag castle ? Thanks for rating . Yeah it's hard to match it perfectly . Of course you can use it . Now I'll ask something that I don't ask everyone :) : I can try to upgrade this tank (make it more realistic) just for your story . It could take some time . Do you want ? I know about this story . I liked it . Keep up good work (and make bit darker story ;) )

Okay, hang on here. I like tanks even more than I like planes. I'm quite nitpicky on the subject - I can tell a German tank from the bolts used in its suspension so please understand when I'm just a bit critical. * The tank uses jet engines. It's not an M1A1 (but what else would you have used?) * The tracks are horrible (but doing better would have been very hard; putting slanted panel pieces for track links...) Apart from that I can say you captured the spirit of the thing, added some nice detail and made the turret transversible. My only remark would be to put the jet engines inside the chassis for a cleaner line.

@Dominik : By the way, I'm probably going to use your tank for one of my stories, if I may. (Not that I usually ask permission for these things be we're having a nice conversation so...). Last one was http://imgur.com/a/GJUcr

@Dominik : That time was incredible, yes... I was in East Germany too, I'll never forget. There was this middle age guy, holding an orange and crying because he'd never seen one before. That kind of things... There was this wonderful feeling of liberation and energy. I spent two weeks with a family in Prague (Opatov, near Centralni Park). Been to the blacklight show below Reduta Jazz Club, loved it!

@Martijnproper Výtečně ! Vítejte :) 92 ... it was 3 years after revolution ... Near everything was new for us ... Yeah , Václav Havel was great man and president (not like our present ,,villager" - Zeman) . But few people hates him (because of downfall of communist regime) ... Were you in Prague ?

@Dominik : Vítejte přítel! I haven't been to your country in a while :( but I liked it very much indeed; first time in 1992. That was *so* different from everything I was used to... And I really admired mr. Havel, such a cool guy!

I missed an I on that lol but yeah it's a heavily modified one obviously.... But the MK.1 tank's average speed on ww1 terrain would have been about 1mph it's top speed was 4-5 they continued going at walking pace until the end of the war really, as they acted like giant shields for the troops (not for the guys inside the tank tho) early tank conditions are horrible, it's 100 degrees everyone's in leather and chain mail armour with heavy iron helmets on, the engine in the middle gives off carbon monoxide and poisons the crews, the only light was the glow of the exausts and you have molten hot rivets ricocheting around the middle of the tank shredding anyone or anything in its way, whilst you have to aim and load the large guns...... Horrible horrible stuff but anyways.. This one reminds me of the TOG1 @Dominik

@XVIindustries Thanks for rating & comments ;) Yes , I know that it's MK VII (you can find it in description) . I used that title to let players with ,,smaller" knowledge know . With that speed ... You're probably writing about MK I (?) but this (MK VII) tank is fake tank made for movie (and based on real MK VIII) . In the movie world it's heavily improved WWI tank which Britain sold to Hatay Republic (after the War) . I rode the tank description where is 20 mph as top speed .

The real tanks max speed was around 7 mph, it also matters when trying to cross difficult terrain, and that's the only reason ww1 tanks were invented a way to get troops across no mans land IE- difficult terrain
