This is the Vtoal variant of the F-35. This is the F-35B Lighting II. features ventral cannon pack as on the naval version. Lift engines are on ag8. the aft primary engine is a three channel functioning system for vertical flight ( in concert with the lift engines "ag8" ) has contontrol and forward and reverse flight. For Conventional take off, deactivate ag8. then throttle up as needed. take of speed is around 260. for short rolling take off deactivate ag8. for vertical flight use ag8 and ag7. rotate engine nozzle to the fully down position. advance throttle to 34% or higher. gain altitude then transition to wing born flight by adjusting trim slider down slightly deactivate ag8 and raise the aft engine nozzle to in-flight postion. When landing in conventional mode land normally. to land in vertical mode, slow to about 250mph or lower activate ag7 and angle the nozzle down slightly. pull trim slider down slightly. And pull stick back to compensate the movements. some things will happen naturally so you will have to compensate for them. while your doing this activate ag8. whatch air speed closely and engine power. decrease power to descend to the ground. land with a vertical speed of no more than 20mph. And take care not to damage the aft nozzle when landing vertically! weapon bay ag6 and vtol down. in internal pylons Ag1 and 2. wing pylons ag 3 4 5. You must work at it to perfect it and to get used to it's handling characteristics. cheers!
