This is my review of the SP2 Demo, please feel free to give any feedback or anything. I certainly didn't cover everything but hopefully I did ok.
Also if you could sub to my youtube channel or like the video on yt I would be eternally grateful ;)
I do agree, especially with the MP performance, they could do something like disable physics, drag and other effects on distance.
.
Also, the performance has to do something with some parts, I've done races with full servers on walkers like 14-16 players, and experienced no lag. (500 parts PP) and 70 fps
.
In other servers with less than 8 players i had less than 30 fps and intense lag spikes.
.
In singleplayer it seems some crafts lag less than on SP.
i wouldn't be suprised if SP2 did not come with MP on mobile
as long as AI there is not dumb like in og SP(they lack any sense of terrain avoidance and therefore crash into the water, also they tend to show their loyalty to the Emperor)
@Kangy I did try a couple other servers and my experience was generally the same, there were a few with like 4 people and a few with like 8-10. Obviously the 8-10 player one was a little harder to run, but it wasn’t performing great on the 4 player one. Now I’m not sure if that was just me but I do think it’s interesting. I really appreciate the feedback.
as a playtester MP is much harder to run than single player in most games
my uni laptop can run SP1 at a playable 30fps or so in singleplayer with a large build and that quickly drops in MP even with one other player
given you probably played on the main server and not a smaller one - theres people rolling around in like 1000 part dodge hellcats with drag and collisions on or whatever crap theyre using (lived experience, even my epic several thousand dollar laptop doesnt like it)
hardware has moved on since 2014 so i dont think anyone should be surprised that raw potatoes fresh from soviet soil arent going to work.
@RobertsAeronautics my settings were on low believe it or not, sounds like your MacBook is a little faster than my laptop. You do own what was a $1000 laptop when it came out after all.
I did test a couple cars made for the elliptical grip mod, they handled a little funky but not bad in general.
And yes, the game is hopefully going to improve, but this is a review of the game’s current state so I’m kind of just saying what it feels like to play right now.
I did wonder how much hate I’d get for the Chad diss, seems like you’re the first wave lol
This game was never meant to be for potato computers. It ran rather smooth on my 8GB M1 MacBook Air when I set the quality somewhere between low and medium. Most of the lag I got came from servers with multiple players (i.e. around 10 or more), or players with builds of well over 1000 parts. I looks like you had set the quality to high levels, so that might be a factor to performance issues.
However, SP2 handles explosions far better than SP1, especially high-power explosive cannons.
As for the cars, the game uses an elliptical grip model, which is more realistic than the grip model in SP1, and is why some SP1 cars didn't handle as good in SP2. On o=the other hand, cars that have been optimised for hpgbproductions' grip mod would likely perform well in SP2.
Don't forget that this game isn't complete, so it will feel that way in a few places, and Jundroo doesn't want to reveal everything before the release in March.

@32 i did this with a 500$ pc build at 60 fps on high setting and it did it smooth
MP was another story

@32 they do it for the honor of the Imperial Air Force and their honorable ancestors
@SuperSuperTheSylph getting kamikazied when you’re trying to take a thumbnail is a canon event

at the end of the day the demo was made to give you a taste of whats to come, what you point out at the end is in my view exactly correct.

hell yeah a brutally honest sp1 review

But don't insult The Chad.
@32 BOOM ! , sub in there
I agree with your opinions on the map.
