[SLRP] Operation Blackstone Day 1

6,852 Jim1the1Squid  6.0 years ago

Task group 1.4 departs from Mansonas Naval base, in the hopes of sneaking up on the other two fleets. The USS Truxtun receives a small RADAR ping bearing 227 degrees and moving at least 870 knots. Then multiple blips popped up, and the Truxtun, Sanderson, and Paxton each launched a counterstrike to intercept TG 22.4's incoming F-9 Dragonflies. The CIWS systems onboard the Armored Cruiser Blackstone shoot down at least 23 out of 50 striking aircraft, while 12 more are taken out by the Unbreakable. Paxton claims the Wantagh as sunk, and severely damaged the Atlas, a remarkable feat, as the USS Atlas (SCVAN-1) is known as a "Mother of all carriers", being 1.65 miles long, contains 3 hulls, and can launch up to 25 aircraft per minute, in addition to launching jumbo jets and bombers. The Atlas class SCVAN is the ultimate definition of a floating military base.

Back to the results from Day one, TG 22.1 did not get involved in any action, except for the USS Townsend sending out a C.A.P. with negative results.

Stay tuned for Day 2 of Operatin Blackstone!

By the way, our destroyers each carry a pair of these and the aircraft cruiser carries four. Each destroyer has a pair of UH-60 Black Hawks on board. The aircraft cruiser has two Black Hawks and two Osprey II strike fighters.

Call it a goodwill tour if you like. It's basically a way of saying hello and keeping up the good relations between our two nations.
    .
The SWS Chieftain is not our most advanced vessel but is by far the most impressive and therefore serves as the ceremonial flagship and ambassador of the Saltwater Navy.

What is a flag-waving visit again?
I've never heard the term before.
Anyways, I will be there to greet you. I will be onboard the USS Blackstone, a Blackstone-class Armored cruiser.

    Will do.
We are going to send the SWS Chieftain on a flag-waving visit to Warburg once the exercise is complete. She is a Type C battlecruiser.

Your vessels are in both TG 1.4 and 22.1
They're not listed under the starting forum because it would have taken too long to name each and every vessel participating. They will have a part, though, so stay tuned.

May I ask which fleets my vessels are in?
