The story of P-4

Those of you who know of me may know of a plane I call P-4. The aircraft that started as just 1 of 4 prototypes, but later came into its own. As a plane, she served as a cargo tug for the first year of her career, alongside her sisters. However, 1 incident changed that. On a return trip she hit a bridge, sheering 2 of the fuselages off and throwing her into a spin. After narrowly avoiding a crash, she returned to base, with a story that became company legend. Initially placed into storage, she was placed into service alongside her cousins. However, in 2019 she was selected for an experimental FTL test. With the engine slung under her fuselage, and with a fresh coat of paint she set off from the USS Leviathan. A final picture of her was taken by a spotter plane, as she flew to 45000ft and activated her FTL drive. A brilliant flash consumed her, as her wings and jets were torn violently off her as she hit 95x the speed of light and disappeared into the brilliant blue sky. We lost track for a good 75 days before a final signal arrived from her, sent by her pilot.

"We're stuck, the FTL drive is fried and we can't return, I'm taking my suicide pill. May our descendants find my eternal coffin and realise how they got to that point".

We completely lost communications, but using the message we placed her location and orbit in the Oort Cloud, putting successful usage of FTL for approximately 19 seconds. For all intensive purposes, she's lost to the dark of space. She's served her duty well, but will most likely never be seen by human eyes again.

I leave you with this image, the 1 that marks her legacy. The very last to ever be taken of P-4, and the only 1 in her FTL guise.
The only remnant of her left.
The only 1 to be released to the public.
The image meant to immortalise P-4...
