Next Update Suggestion : JETS!

27.3k JovianPat  8.6 years ago

I mean more features with jet engines and related stuff, such as :
- Adjustable throttle response : ranging from very slow to instant.
- Afterburners : Can be toggled. Consumes fuel like crazy and greatly increases thrust beyond capacity. May overheat when used for too long, indicated by a warning (any style you like). Overheating the engine will cause it to stall, or explode.
- More inlets, such as nose inlets with adjustable size and shapes. Or even circular inlets, just like on Me 262.

@XVIindustries Must be an amazing sight. Also I just realized that the XH558 is the last only airworthy Vulcan :( at least it's not the last of its kind, but Do 335 is. What happened to the other Vulcans?

@JovianPat I saw it on its last public display EVERYONE WAS CRYING it wing waved and then howled away lol you could still see it on the horizon for about 5 mins lol it's so massive on the tiny grass airfield of the shuttleworth collection, hahah it just went with no afterburner for the first time round and my friend (who hasn't seen it before) said that was bloody loud :) boy did he cower when those Olympus' started screeching and throwing out smoke I think it was the best display I've ever seen, cause I've never seen it fly relatively close to me, cause it's usually further away, but cause shuttle is a grass airfield near no large buildings she could fly realy low and realy close to us :) I also say the REAL Dh88 Grosvenor house flying and spoke to the pilot lol, he told me that he questions on weather to take a parachute with him, because if he wasn't killed in the crash he would be killed by his mechanics and all of the planes fans XD I also saw the genuine oldest British plane still flying fly with three other period planes, one a 1910 deperdussin (SPAD) an AV.Roe (AVRO) IV Triplane and a Bristol Boxkite if you ever get the chance to go there at all, I advise you go because ITS THE BEST: Even without Vulcans it is THE BEST vintage airfield in the UK (in my opinion)

Nope, ;) just very cunning ;);););) also I have a secret weapon, my grandad, RAF, BAC aeronautical engineer who worked on Jet engines on loads of aircraft, including the famous English electric lightning, glosser javelin, English Eletric Canberra Avro Anson and of course THE MIGHTY AVRO VULCAN, ROMAN LORD OF FIRE AND DESTRUCTION :) @JovianPat

@XVIindustries Nice! :) so basically it missed the approach and just blasted the engines to max just to do another approach. Nerves of steel.

@Mrwhiskers85 Good idea, inlets should be resizable like the fuselage block with variety of shapes from circular to cone.

@XVIindustries I know XD. Rolls Royce makes the best sounds, from cars to jet engines. They should've named the engine Spectre.

Rolls Royce know how to make their engines sing, but it would have scared the crap out of the Russians lol @JovianPat

@XVIindustries Maybe a damage to the thrust system making it much weaker or just simply shut down due to overheat? Also, the engine sound is music to my ears and I just realized that the youtube url says arse :D
@Sirstupid Ramjet is also nice to have, unable to produce thrust at 0 mph but goes up to mach 3 in the air or something. I wanna make the X-43.

Oh and to add on maybe a type of VTOL engine like the one on the F-35? That would make some wicked stuff.

Using afterburners for too long will not make the engine explode, it will damage it, but no blow it up...

The devs said that the next update focuses on places to fly, but that was a Month ago and they can be a bit unpredictable. They never did anticipate an adjustable block...
