Here's a suggestion for the game and it's not something that's far fetched

Add the amount of travel percentage to the part such as Rotators and Piston. And here's why

When you're building an openable door , hood or trunk of a car , to prevent the part to go inside the car and blow everything up , you either set the door to the middle position (which in some situation can be tricky) , or use the throttle as control (which is strange) .
By having the ability percentage of a rotator , create these components can be so much easier . And in my case , normally , it will massive help me out when I build a suspension component .
And why the piston ? Because I want to make a V8 , V6 , I6 and maybe cross plane I4 engine , not much else .

And of course if I know how to mod , I will just do it .

@JumpingJack that's not exactly the issue, the issue is we can't exactly select in which percentage we want the component to start with.
in a lot of builds, it wouldn't matter much but in something like suspension or piston engine I would like to control the angle(not the total angel, but from which percentage) of travel from those components.

I know this is old but select all the parts that you want to prevent exploding and either in a text editor or in overload, change the part to disable aircraft collisions = true and viola, when fuselage collide, they wont explode anymore. or just make the health 10 to the 37th power because that's the highest value SP can hold.

@Johnnyynf I’m not picking up what your putting down here, so let’s just go with the problem half solved part...

@Lahoski107 yes , that will solve the door/trunk problem .
But when it comes to suspension building , the problem is still there .
When building a suspension , we only want the control arm (and probably all rotators used in the suspension set) to go one direction . And the change in input controller can't make it to go one way . And the only way I can think of now is rely on the collision model in this game , which is iffy .

So the problem half solved maybe ?

First off, that can be done in the overload mod, you just have to set one min to 0 or max to 0 in the hinge rotator
