The next big update is coming out this fall with the release of SP on Steam(Mehhhhhh), so I thought I'd share my predictions.
1. EveryPlay. This is all but guaranteed. there is a beta test for it on the Google Play store right now. This may even have its own smaller update in between.
EDIT: Woo! I was right! Update SP now!
2. A new island. Andrew Garrison himself told me there would be "new places to fly to". I'm guessing this means there will be another island somewhere. What is on that island, I cannot say.
3. Landing lights. So many people, myself included, have demanded landing lights that they almost have to add them.
4. Adjustable landing gear. More and more people are building large planes. Large planes usually need larger landing gear.
5. Weapons. Someone said A.G. Told them there would be weapons in the next update. Philip Tarpley replied to them that even he hadn't heard such a thing, but I predict that there will be because either they were planning them before or they now feel obligated to.
6. Adjustable intakes. Again, loads of requests. It just makes sense.
7. Easter eggs. Another "A.G. Told so-and-so this" one, but with all the Rick Rolling going on, I feel like there will be an Easter egg that has to do with that.
The previous ones have been in order of likelihood, but I wanted to save the best for last:
MULTIPLAYER
There has been a lot of talk of multiplayer over the past months, but I think this update is it. Philip Tarpley posted a video a while back of a working multiplayer, but the project was shelved. But they just released a huge update, so now they may have more time to work on it. I just feel like this time's the charm. I can only hope it's an online multiplayer as opposed to a local multiplayer.
So those are my predictions. If anyone can confirm or deny those, that would be great. Thanks for reading. Any comments or other predictions would be helpful, too.

I want to see a flying helicarrier that we can land on
I think we should have a actual airfoil on the wings depending if we go symmetric or semi or flat or what ever and a little bit more fuselage customization and on top of that bomb bays and some new engine types like contra rotating and maybe a contest mode in multiplayer were each week or month you choose certain people on each platform to judge entries and a lot of small things like rockets and a little hint thing that gives hints on why the plane won't fly and some body lifting fuselages for flying wings and stuff and thrust vectoring engines

I wouldn't mind local multiplayer as long as it's mobile supported
I'm hoping for helicopter parts. Maybe a rotor/swashplate combo with built-in actuation so we don't have to mess around with rotators. Some kind of gyro for added stability in VTOL planes and helis would be nice too.
@LordofLego with the weapons update you would think they would add AI to shoot at, seeing as if you had nothing to shot at, youd probably lose interest in the game fod a bit until AI actually were added in, so ppl can practice shooting down targets with missiles and guns and rockets... itd also be fun to see SR kill an AI with bombs only, lol.

Someone posted a source (which i can't find rn) of a reddit post showing Andrew clearly hinting towards the possibilities of weapons. I don't think it, along with multiplayer will come in the next update. This has probably been planned for a while before they actually started work on it, so they will stick to what they set out to do. And in the multiplayer early development video you clearly see them talking about bugs in it, so even though they have the theory and basic structure down, there's still a lot of work to go into it to make it usable

@FullFruntall Multiplayer was shelved so they could work on other things for a while. I stand by my prediction. Weapons would be fairly useless without targets, which could also be added, but I was just repeating what others had said. And I have to agree that everything should be scalable!
