October 17, 3207 marked the end of the First Tor War, after the Continuum scored multiple strategic victories and destroyed the last kingship at the Battle of Plenare. Things, however, were not going well back home. During the onset of the war most of the battlefleets were sent to battle, and the remaining fleets that were tasked to patrol the worlds of the Continuum were stretched thin, particularly at the Fringe. The citizens there, tired of the way the Core Worlds looked down on them, saw this as a window of opportunity to turn their silent rebellion into a bloody one. December 21, 3207, multiple attacks were staged against the patrolling navy cruisers and frigates, destroying almost every single one of them and commandeering the surviving units and stealing their blueprints for illegal reproduction. The Fringe, now a formidable fighting force, attacked the Core Worlds in a brutal onslaught similar to the Siege of New Breton centuries ago, where they used gravity-tugged asteroids to conceal their entry. The bulk of the Navy, fresh out of combat, was caught off-guard, resulting to undue heavy casualties. It was not until the new heavy warships of the Navy such as the Seraph-Class dreadnought were deployed from their shipyards that the rebels finally stalled their advance, and the Navy gradually pushed them back to a few AU away from the Fringe. As of now both sides are at standstill, no side retreating or advancing at all fronts, while reports of high-ranking defectors are putting the integrity of the Continuum at the stake.
