A GA-3 Finch ground attack aircraft operated by Vector Aerospace's private defense contractor subsidy recently scored the first Air-to-Ground kill of the aircraft's record. 2 Finches of the 1st Air Task Group operating in the Southern Islands as part of a joint anti-naval operation engaged an enemy aircraft carrier stationed off the coast of their home base. The USS Tiny was conducting air superiority missions when pilots from the 1st Air Task Group sunk the carrier using pylon-mounted rocket pods. The GA-3 is expected to sell to mostly developing nations, as it is small and cost-effective for its capabilities. A spokesman from Vector Aerospace says he expects orders to begin rolling in after the Finch proved itself in a real world combat situation.
