Welcome to the "50s Cold War Challenge". This document contains the rules of the challenge and tournament and explain parts provided in the official post

General Rules

• Must be a successor of the official post
• Must be an original plane and not copy of other players
• Fictitious planes and replicas are accepted
• Each contestant may submit up to 4 aircraft
• Jet and propeller aircraft allowed
• Minimum Parts: 100
• You must use the weapons and missiles provided in this post
• It allows you to edit parts with XML, except: drag, gravity, infinity fuel and weights.
• You can edit size and power of engines
• Trust vectoring engines not allowed
• The weight of the details can be 0
• 4 x Guardian missiles max.
• Not Interceptors missiles allowed.
• 1 x minigun or 6 wing guns max.
• Landing gear required
• The player specify in description: 1) Year of introduction of the airplane, 2) Indicate the inscription to the challenge or the tournament, or to both.

Rules about speed, weight, fuel

• Max speed at 100% throttle (For aircraft of the early and mid 50's): 1000 mph at 35.000 feet aprox.
• Max speed at 100% throttle (For aircraft of the late 50's): 1.500 mph at 40.000 feet aprox.
• Max weight: 45.000 lbs
• Max fuel: 1600 Gallons

Specific rules for propeller airplanes

• Max speed at 100% throttle: 450 mph at 25.000 feet aprox.
• No missiles allowed

Deadline

7 of July included. It takes me several days to prepare the verdict, results and videos.

Modality 1 - Build the best 50s fighter (No combat) - Evaluation method

• Handling, stability, agility: 0-50 points
• Aesthetics and realistic model: 0-50 points
• Details and accessories: 0-50 points
• Extra points: 0-10 points for those truly original and innovative aircraft.

Modality 2 - Tournament - Combat

• Single Elimination brackets. The battle bracket will be randomly assigned.
• The defeated planes stop fighting in the tournament.
• All battles will be AI conducted on High physics.
• There will be 3 medium range combats in each bracket.

Awards Challenge

• Winner :: 15 votes + Spotlight
• Second and Third place - Spotlight

Missiles

• Yellow :: Mass scale 0.5 - Faster missile but maneuver less and it finishes its fuel more quickly
• Red :: Mass scale 1 - Default parameters of the "Guardian" missile
• Blue :: Mass scale 1.5 - Slower, heavier missile, but with more maneuverability and flight time
