@PyrusEnderhunter well, is it some chemical or nanomachine? The Continuum has some outstanding med. tech such as nanite shots for short-term healing and cellular reconstruction tanks for long-term healing. The average human life expectancy has also been extended to 220 years. And the Tors do not only make diseases you know. They also bio-engineer new species and breed them for specialized purposes such as infiltration, mass genocide, and even food sources. Their terraforming tech require carbon-based biomatter as fuel (how it works is something the Continuum scientists have trouble explaining.)

@PyrusEnderhunter the Continuum has been fighting the Tors for months before, but it was only deep space battle. It was the first time a Tor battle group exited hyperspace in close vicinity of a planet, and the Continuum never knew of their bioweapons prior to that
@PyrusEnderhunter the battle, known as the Malavar Incident (as it happened at the Malavar System), was the Continuum's first contact with the ISFOS, and their first defeat against the Tors. Well, they crushed the Tors in ship-to-ship combat, but they failed to save the planet in time, as not all landers were shot down, and the lives of 3 billion Malavar citizens were lost in a matter of days. (Only roughly 200, 000 people were saved by the ground extraction team).

*Weird, there are no infantry forces... wait, I'm detecting something... some sort of bio-weapon... it matches Alcurvian bioweapon signature! Contact the human ship immediately! Tell them to shoot down the landers or they'll lose the countless billion lives on that planet!!!
So a short summary... first, they would only find the ruins of Earth in the Sol System (Pre-Crossing War, remember?). They would just find a Continuum-occupied system where a battle is raging on, and second, Andromeda. Hehehe is that a reference to the new Mass Effect game?
