No, the devs thought it would cool to have a place where the growing number of mods could be located centrally, as well as linking to information where someone can learn about how to make a mod themselves. I really think it brings it all full circle. This game is all about being what you make it.
The devs have their own ideals for the game, that just might not align with what others want. The devs are hard working, skitish creatures that take a lot of lamb flesh to summon. Not lazy. Not everyone will get what they want 100% of the time for each update. So instead of feeling bad that we don't have a part or feature, we can make it ourselves. But I hope your joking. @goboygo1
