I recently discovered a map of the islands in SP and thought I'd go explore them. Up until this point I had only been to Krakabloa , Wright, and Skypark. I chose JShay's PAK FA for the job (which, by the way, worked fabulously and is an awesome plane) and decided to hit Kraken before swinging down to Maywar, then up to Snowstone. I thought, Kraken sure is a funny name for a SP island based on the others. I play a member of a group of kraken worshipping fanatics in an mmorpg I spend way to much time on, so my interest was piqued. As I approached the "island"-it took me a few minutes to come into view of it following a heading of 74-75 degrees from Krakabloa-the sky grew dark and clouds formed out of nowhere. I was dismayed to find the island was small and had no runway or flat surfaces to land on. I figured maybe it wasn't Kraken so I decided to circle it closely before resuming my heading. Imagine my surprise when the beast burst from the water screaming its dread roar, tentacles flailing. bout shit myself. I hit the afterburner in an attempt to escape, but a tentacle rose to meet me and ded #rip #getrektscrub...
As I sat quietly trying to gather myself and process what had just happened, I discovered another lovely feature: the whisper. Freaky as hell that whisper. Anyway, long story short, the Kraken scared the hell out of me and sorry about your plane JShay.
today i also discovered a SP map and i thought "hmm, how about to go to the Kraken, it sounds interesting". And i decided to fly in a ThatOneFurry's Mikoyan MiG-29 which is also a great plane that can unrealistically accelerate from 0 to 1600 mph in 3 seconds and pull up to 80 g's (i love this plane), and by the time i got to the kraken i had about 48% fuel left so i decreased my throttle to 80% to turn off the afterburners. and it was night. When i approached the same "island" (which was glowing red from one side btw) i also almost shit myself, laid on that throttle to get tf out of there and never came back there again. nice:)

@WEAPONSMITH No actually using @oDDDity's lasergun won't do harm to the launchers, but is effective in destroying the missiles before it hits the plane, buying time to lock on the launchers. Four missiles bound to an AG is fired onto one missile, and the laser defense is futile.
@WEAPONSMITH @MechWARRIOR57 I defeated Ice Base once. Just use @oDDDity 's modded laser wing gun... As Missile defense (i mean seriously, just one gun and 2 quads of Infernos)
