Finer paint?

7,305 OtterOfToast  7.6 years ago

I'd like to make some nose-art! I can't, though. And I don't like to use XML modding or anything like that, sooo yeah. Can we get a paint tool that lets us make finer touches like nose-art and roundels in vanilla?

@MrTaco I have tried that. It's okay--- but it doesn't ring true to me like a vanilla craft. It's just not something I care to upload.

You should consider making at least one modded plane, but mods would have to be justifiable. Say, some sci-fi plane that has purple exhaust, or maybe lasers. Just to change things up. You might enjoy it.

@MrTaco I know mods give you potential, but I do prefer a challenge compared to a modded craft. I make a great plane with the limitations and guidelines given to me, it just feels like a better aircraft, and I'm all the more proud of it ^_^ I can see why you use mods, and I do occasionally tinker with a few, but I never upload them.

I thought you were afraid that it was cheating. I can see how you feel. You like the challenge of making a plane that flys using the set rules and limitations the game has set for you.
What I like is building something that is fictional that works like the real thing even if I have to use floating wheels to make it float, and even if I use an engine with double power to make it fly like the real thing.
I understand what your saying. You play the game how you like. It's just that mods give you so much more potential to make better things.

@MrTaco I don't have a "fear" of modding. I just don't want to mod my planes, okay? How is that so hard to believe? I just don't like mods.

You need to get over you fear of modding. The developers encourage it because it helps users to further express their creativity. It's not cheating it's using better tools to get the job done. You wouldn't use use your fingers to drive in a nail because you felt that it was cheating not too.
