On my IPhone SP is really quite chunky and slow, I've tried all the things that normally make a device slow, I deleted old planes, and freed up some memory on my phone as well as restarting my phone and yet Sp is still slow. Especially when you first load into the level.
@Viper28 do you have apps open?? And try this I have a iPhone too but I don't use it for simple planes hold the power button and then press cancel it helps a lot most of the times
