I just need two planes raced against eachother a few times on seperate sides. The results I am getting are very mixed. On one side one will win by a few seconds but get a really good time, and when they switch places it falls way behind and gets a horrible time.

I have the same issue.
Just run them a thousand more times, it'll be okay.
