I just kinda' need to talk about this...

As is in any game, aside from Minecraft, I feel like I'm being phased out. I don't use mods, so my builds come across as boring no matter how hard I try to make 'em impressive. I don't use mods because they make me feel cheap. Like I'm not working with what I'm given, but using a sort of crutch. What do I do now? Modded craft are usually the only ones to get much traction. I know I don't claim to care about points-- and I don't-- but I mean... A little bit of traction would be nice-- but any following I get, like what I got during the Corporeal program, I lose within a week.
Seriously, I'm not getting anywhere, so what do I do now? I'm spinning my tires in the mud, here.

    I use mods because the stuff I build are fictional and don't work in real life.

    @KCferrari Well yeah- but y'know. Maybe some day, but for now, I think I'll stick with vanilla. Thanks, tho.

    @OtterOfToast But you see, the mods here aren't to cheat, but rather to unlock the limitations that make many things impossible. From everything you say, I really feel you'd enjoy the freedom of fine tuner.

    @KCferrari I try to play for my own satisfaction, But I'm not getting anywhere. I've hit a wall-- but I'm not using a mod to fix that. I said it before, and I'll say it again. Mods, to me, are a crutch-- like I'm not using my skill, but using a mod instead. I guess that's why I suck.

    For me its not a matter of impressing others, but impressing myself. I'm always trying to find ways to make things more accurate and better than the last, for my own satisfaction. When you've mastered the basics, making use of things like the fine tuner mod is a way to allow new levels of freedom to building better planes that will ultimately be more satisfying to say you made in the end. I see no reason so say rotating a panel to an odd degree is a cheat. Its just how to make something aesthetically better, so why stick to the limitations? Get yourself a fine tuner and make planes without limits.

    @Flightsonic People want the XML I guess. Nobody's impressed by vanilla anymore.

    Now I notice, most of my crafts are completely non xml modded, besides a few parts in my subs.
    But there has been an overall lack if attention... besides a few users...

    @OtterOfToast well, I use modded parts all the time and I only have an iPhone lol. For me I don't feel like I'm cheating the system because of how hard I need to work to get some of the parts I use, and how using them is even more challenging than that

    @Shmexysmpilot There's just something about it that makes me feel dishonest-- like I'm using a computer to compensate for my lack of skill? I don't know. It's just the principal of the thing :\

    @GINGER01 Already on ott ;3

    Make an otter that uses a piece of toast as an airplane, boat or car. That would be funny.

    Why don't you want to use mods? Often if you're trying to make something easier by using mods (I'm talking about XML "modding" not actual mods) it's actually harder than doing it normally, while using mods you can make things that are 100% impossible with normal parts. And it's the amazing creations that are unique because of modding that people like
