From my point of view the VTOL engine is the best engine. Very refined exhaust, light weight and very much fuel efficient. If you use an engine with mode 5 then you can get very good performance with fuel efficiency and use a pair of two moded VTOL nozzles (rotation stopped by xml modding). You can get all these easily from my planes.
