Two Truths and a Lie

54.2k Graingy  yesterday

The age old icebreaker game.
A person tells two true facts about themselves, while mixing in a single falsehood. The other players then try to guess which of the statements is the lie

Why not try that here?

Of course, the generally linear nature of the game doesn't translate too well to an online forum, so perhaps give it a day or so for people to make guesses until revealing which of your statement is the lie.

Of course, don't give away anything too personal!
Additionally, you are not obligated to provide a "correction" to your lie, only say which it was.

I'll go first:

  1. I have touched a crocodile.
  2. I am under 15 years old.
  3. I've destroyed something with a WWII weapon before.

This one should be pretty easy, but let's see how it goes anyways.

    @Randomplayer this is different than in-person lying. That should be obvious.
    Very different.

    @Randomplayer
    The first is toddler activities.
    The second is something I'd rather not think about.
    The third happens sometimes.
    I'm gonna say that the third is the lie, since the first is basically a given for a toddler and the second is oddly specific.

    19 hours. Close enough.
    @Randomplayer @ComradeBazookaBall @TheLoadingGorilla
    The lie was the second, unsurprisingly. I did say it was incredibly obvious, after all.
    The "weapon" was a story I've told here before, where I accidentally knocked over an M72 armour piercing round shortly after I bought it... directly onto my laptop which was nearby. I only thought to check if it'd turn on two days later. I didn't realize the screen was shattered since the plastic screen (covering, as it turns out) was seemingly unharmed. The damage was only visible when off if you looked closely. Needless to say, it was totaled.
    (Also, the "Crocodile" in question wasn't an animal - it was a tank.)

    @SuperSuperTheSylph What makes you think it's obvious?
    @Boeing727200F While you have volunteered at a railyard, I remember, I doubt they'd let you touch a crane without some sort of licence.
    I have no idea how the Wikipedia thing would work. Not sure if you mean on the school's end (somehow) or on Wikipedia's end (somehow).
    I have no recollection of whether you've ever made any indication of traveling outside the US. Possible that'd you'd only ever fly on 737s, but I'm not sure how likely seeing as there are other similar planes in operation.
    I'm going to say the first is a lie on the crane point. At the same time, that does sound like the sort of thing you'd want to subtlety ("subtlety") brag about by bringing up, so I'm not super sure.

    I mean, if you want to wait me to wait a day then I'll do it again
    I have started up a diesel locomotive and operated a railway crane, for some reason.
    I have gotten my entire school banned from editing on Wikipedia.
    I have flown on exclusively Boeing 737s and was allowed into the cockpit of one.

    @Boeing727200F True.
    True, though most people on SP.com are probably in North American or maybe Europe.
