Official name: Martorian Reich
Capital: Abelburg
Political system: Absolute monarchy ("Kaiserliche Absolute Monarchie")
Ruling dynasty: von Martis
Motto: "Durch Eisen und Blut, Einheit und Fortschritt"
National symbols:
- Golden eagle with chrism on its chest (divine heritage)
- Black (iron) double-headed eagle (House of Martis after 1891)

Key characteristics of the state in 1980:

The Reich is a unique blend of archaic traditions and advanced technologies. It is a militarised, disciplined society with a strong cult of personality surrounding the Kaiser, national unity and technological progress. Externally, it is characterised by neoclassical architecture, military parades and a strict social order. Internally, it has a highly developed industry, a single state concern controlling all key sectors, and an ambitious space programme. Society was hierarchical: the highest aristocracy, the military and technical aristocracy, the "servant class" (engineers, officials, scientists) and the working class, which enjoyed social guarantees in exchange for loyalty.

Chronology of important events:

1. Foundation (1483-1490)

The first Kaiser, Augustus V "the Iron," united the scattered Marso principalities, cities, and margraviates in the Adel River valley under his rule after a long and bloody campaign. A centralised system of government was created, based on nobles loyal to him and a professional army — the foundation of the future legendary Martorian army.

2. The Forty Years' War (1612-1653)

Conflict for hegemony on the continent with the powerful southern empire. The Reich suffered enormous losses, but under the leadership of Karl VI "the Steadfast" and his commanders, it prevailed. The war strengthened the national spirit, gave rise to the myth of the "unbreakable Martorian" and led to the militarisation of society. The end of the war cemented the Reich's position as a great power.

3. The Great Schism of the Nobility (1655-1657)

A short but extremely brutal civil war between the conservative landed aristocracy (Altgrafen) and the new nobility (Neuerren), oriented towards trade and manufacturing. The "Neuheeren" won with the support of the crown. Friedrich III brutally suppressed the rebellion, confiscating the lands of the "Altgrafen" and redistributing them among loyal families, which accelerated industrialisation.

4. Northern War (1689-1703)

The Reich's expansion northward to gain access to the sea and resources. Victory over the northern kingdoms under Wilhelm II "the Sailor." The first major ports were founded (later Augustshafen), and a military and merchant fleet was created.

5. Adoption of the constitution and creation of parliament (1799)

Under pressure from the liberal-minded nobility and the wealthy bourgeoisie, who wanted political influence, August VIII "the Yielding" signed the constitution. A parliament was created — the "Palace of the High Nobility of the Martorian Empire" (Palast des Hochadels des Reiches Martorian). Actual power remained with the Kaiser, but parliament was given advisory and budgetary powers, becoming an arena for intrigue.

6. "The Fall of the Silver Eagle" (Der Fall des Silberadlers) (1837-1846)

A period of profound political crisis. Parliament, mired in corruption and factional strife, paralysed decision-making. Economic decline and social unrest led to chaos. In 1846, the young and charismatic Crown Prince Otto (the future Otto IV), with the support of the army, the people and part of the aristocracy, carried out a bloodless coup. The parliament building (the "Silver Eagle") was sealed and the constitution was abolished.

7. "The Age of Iron and Blood" (Das Zeitalter von Eisen und Blut) (1847-1891)

Otto IV "the Restorer" established a new, pure absolute monarchy. Tough centralisation was carried out, the army and state apparatus were reformed, and industrialisation began according to a unified plan. The slogan of the era was "Iron (industry) and Blood (unity of the nation)". The Reich became an industrial giant with the world's strongest land army.

8. "Weltkrieg" (1915-1927)

A global war for the redivision of the world and its colonies. The Martorian Reich fought against a coalition of several great powers. The war was fought with varying degrees of success, demonstrated the importance of technology (tanks, aviation, gases) and ended in a difficult, "trench" peace without a clear winner. The Reich remained intact, but suffered enormous human and economic losses, which gave rise to a thirst for revenge and the need for total mobilisation of society.

9. Establishment of a new constitution (1933)

August IX "the Steel," drawing on the lessons of the Weltkrieg and wishing to legitimise the extraordinary powers of the crown, adopted the "New State Charter." The document legally enshrined the absolute power of the Kaiser as supreme commander-in-chief, head of state and government. All other institutions were declared to be exclusively executive bodies of his will.

10. Reform of the armed forces (1954)

Complete revision of military doctrine after Weltkrieg. Emphasis on mobility, tank forces, missile weapons and tactical aviation. Elite units — the Kaisergarde — were created.

11. Formation of the AMFK concern (1958)

The August von Martis Research Institute and Concern (August von Martis Forschungsinstitut und Konzern), a giant state-owned scientific and industrial complex, was created to coordinate military developments.

12. Start of the space programme (1966)

Launch of the Silberadler (Silver Eagle) project — a demonstration of the Reich's technological superiority and a search for new strategic opportunities.

13. Merger under AMFK (1969)

August X, a former technocrat, issued a decree on the complete subordination of all strategic industries (metallurgy, mechanical engineering, energy, chemistry, aerospace) to the AMFK concern. In fact, AMFK became a "state within a state," the main driver of the economy and progress.

14. karl IX comes to power (1972)

After the sudden death of Albert III, his brother Karl IX ascended the throne. Young, ambitious and wildly popular with the army and the people, he proclaimed a course of "New Rebirth" ("Die Neue Wiedergeburt") — a combination of technological breakthroughs, strengthening national pride and active foreign policy.

The Martorian Reich in 1980:

The country is at the height of its power under Charles IX. AMFK launches its first orbital station, "Kaiservort". Δημοσιεύσεις σχετικά με την ασφάλεια και την προστασία των δεδομένων. However, there is tension in society: social hierarchy und the arms race create a fragile balance. Karl IX dreams of going down in history as the ruler who restored the Reich to its former glory and opened the way to the stars, but the shadow of the great wars of the past and absolute power harbour unpredictable risks for the future.

Cultural code: Discipline, duty, loyalty to the Kaiser, the supremacy of reason and technology, the cult of power combined with order.
Main conflict of the present: Between the desire for technocratic progress and a cosmic future and the burden of militaristic history, absolute power and internal control. The Reich is a dictatorship on the threshold of a new era.

I would strongly suggest not using the word "Reich" in your roleplay factions due to the real-world connotations.
