LRP/LancerRP
Year: 1980
One year passes for every irl Friday.
1980s era, 1980s technology.
LancerRP is my first RP, so don't expect the smoothest sailing. Due to the community poll, the vast majority of the 20+ participants voted for a 1980s era to be applied—that is what has officially happened. I am to list the maps below discussing each aspect. Note that more maps may be added in the future, and participants will be tagged on these updates. You are supposed to download the map into procreate, FlipaClip, notability, whatever and draw your desired borders for your nation and send it to me. To send it to me, go to an image hosting website like Imgbb.com or gifyu.com, submit your map picture, copy the link to the webpage and tag me in a comment below with the link. I will approve/disapprove your border request afterwards. Take into consideration the economic, geographic, and military implications on the territory you pick, and don't go overboard with it. I will assign you a color or you can request one to highlight your territory in the chosen below map for territorial claims. Each map has its own purpose, with a total of 5 individual maps.
Map 1: Continents/World Map
The first map displays the continents of LRP: Arctara (red), Avalor (green), Lumera (yellow), Verdantia (blue), and Corvannis (Purple). This map is purely for referencing the territory of each respective continent, and what lies on what land. It is for each nation’s region.

Map 2: Political Map
A Political map is a kind of map that displays territorial borders and the locations of different countries. This is the map that everyone’s nations will be put on using individual colors to show land claims. I will implement dashed lines of alternating colors for disputed territory once I become aware of said disputes. I have already put down my country, and each country will be listed at the bottom of this forum with their respective name, owner, continent, color, flag, and type of government.

Map 3: Resource Map
This resource map is a type of thematic map. It uses different colors to represent different types of natural resource reserves. The representation of resources (major reserves not all reserves,) is as follows:
Red—Copper and Lithium (Important to electronics)
Orange—Rare Earth Metals
Yellow — Oil and Natural Gas
Neon Green — Bauxite (Aluminum)
Green — Iron and Nickel
Teal/Light Blue — Cobalt (Important to electronics)
Blue — Graphite (Important to electronics)

If your nation lacks a specific mineral or resource, you can negotiate with other nations to acquire them. Other resources like meats, agriculture and lumber are displayed on the last two maps.
Map 4: Basic Economic
This map displays three basic elements: Agriculture, Fishing, and Volcanic activity. The light green represents the most ideal placements of agricultural land. The purple represents the best fishing ground. (Do not overlap with oil and natural gas reserves much due to pollution) Lastly the red represents volcanic activity, overlapping with higher levels of elevation and copper/lithium reserves. I just threw it in there because I didn’t have anywhere else to put it. These three influence economic development for food and urban development.

Map 5: Terrain
This map is the last, and it represents the terrain. The majority of the time I spent on creating each map was spent on this map. It includes all types of environments and geographic information. Light blue lines meandering through the continents represent the most major rivers, and whoever originally occupies those lands will name the rivers. The rest is as follows:
Light Green — Plains and fertile areas
Green — Lightly forested areas
Dark Green — Densely forested areas, tend to be higher elevation
Even Darker Green — Tropical and rainforests, found around the equator
Beige/Tan — Deserts/Dry areas
Light Gray — Highlands/Cliffs
Dark Gray — Mountains
White — Tundra/Permafrost/Ice
Blue — Rivers and other bodies of water

Those are all the maps, and they should influence geopolitical decisions and territorial claims. Now for the rules, the rest of the rules will be made as we go and put in the pinned comments or here.
Basic Rules
—Technology: Keep technology realistic, you can advance faster than others and faster than irl technology for the time but make it reasonable, logical, make sense, and get all the previous stuff done first. Make sure you can fund it.
—Invasions: Defense and city building must be realistic too. Do not build cities on the tops of mountains (unless you can) or just march an army over them or through the desert. It makes no sense. If there are mountains in the way, find some way to deal with them realistically. You can take unclaimed land that borders you or borders the sea if you do too, but only after the first week of the RP.
—Nuclear Weapons: They are permitted, however they are very strict! Nuclear weapons are limited to 50 per country, and can be in the form of bombs, mortars, missiles, or torpedoes. You can not take everyone out at once, and you must deal with the effects of the explosions. The winds will push radioactive material into your and everyone else’s land and it definitely will affect you all. Agriculture, population, and health take a toll and cancer rates/deaths skyrocket. The effects stay for 2 years.
—Natural Disasters: Natural disasters should be taken seriously. Consider the fact that the mountains oftentimes represent fault lines, and volcanic activity is very present in the RP. I may or may not create one for the RP every now and then for a region each time, but most likely I won’t.
—Finance: Do not pull money out of nowhere like it's not a big deal. It is. You should depend on your country’s financial income from your natural resources, or make tolls for passing ships through your choke points on the map. That way you have finances to fund your military, economy, allies and population.
—Defense Contractors: You have the decision to join the RP as a nation or a defense contractor. DC’s are able to create weapons, vehicles, and systems for a military of their choice, but must remain loyal to them. They can serve two at once, but must choose one or the other if relations between the two nations turn sour.
__Mercenary Groups: You can join as a Mercenary group too. This is a group that has their own independent army, kind of like a militia, and another country can hire you to work for them under your own decisions. Real examples include the Russian mercenary group “Wagner” or even private air forces. One customer at a time though, and you need a source of income. You can be funded by another country to generate wealth for them, or work for them to begin your profits.
—Shipyards: Shipyards are complicated. If you want to make big and/or specialized ships like aircraft carriers and submarines, you need improved shipyards. Improved shipyards take the process of upgrading a regular one to accommodate the newer ships. It requires money obviously, and you need the manpower for it.
—Stealth: In LRP, the rules made around stealth are straightforward. You can create stealth vehicles, but it has requirements. You can create faceted designs such as the F117 or Lockheed’s entry for DARPA’s ATB competition/stealth bomber design. If you want to incorporate curved surfaces, you require more advanced computing technology. You will need to spend 1 RP year investing into this technology to unlock curved computation. This is also allowed for ships, drones, helicopters, missiles, ground vehicles, etc. but you need the curved computing for the best stealth. But any kind of stealth is expensive, and you need to spend 1 RP year investing into new facilities to build the components and equipment to make the technology possible
Very Necessary Rules
—When uploading your builds and forums for this RP, at the very beginning of the title please include “[LRP]”. It is necessary to distinguish your posts from regular ones, and helps a lot. Plus it’s tradition. Additionally, tag everyone in LRP with an @ in the comments of your posts regarding LRP so the other members know you posted something about it. I will post the tags in the comments and update them regularly for when you need it. Or you can just take it from some other member’s comment section on an LRP post. Also follow this forum with the blue button at the top to be notified when someone comments so you know what happens at any point. You don't have to do that part though it’s just encouraged.
Wrapping Up
That’s about it for now, if you want to recommend something go ahead in a comment. This is the last part However:

@BlackGearCompany okay, ill do my research too 👍
@B1 gifyu is fine for me actually. Thank you for consideration. And I will inform you if i know some image hosting that aren't blocked by regional law/regulation.
@AugustVonMartis the only requirements for reuploads id say would be to add the [LRP] to it on a reupload (with your new insignia if you want) and tag RP members. But do it once all the members are confirmed
@BlackGearCompany never even heard of VK, i used to use Postimages until i found out abt their corn ads and block in Indonesia, so now i use imgbb or gifyu. For this one i used imgbb. If you can get a few image hosting services gathered that arent blocked and tell me i will use them
@BlackGearCompany proposal 2 approved. @AugustVonMartis country approved. I will put it in when Im home and finished with school for today
@SPsidearm me want to bought some ye guns for me country
@SomeSPGuyWhoLikesLore then you should use them, i have a few as well although they are a decade behind
@AugustVonMartis i will edit the maps, dont worry. For now this is what I am starting with which are the most necessary for construction of machines and electronics. Those minerals and resources will be included soon
@RB107 approved, send me the details whenever you decide
@BlackGearCompany the flag looks boring eh?... Welp
@ZealousKestrel thank you!
@SPsidearm yes, many clients to pick here!

@SuperSuperTheSylph same protocol, just so long as the rules are followed
@AugustVonMartis 5 maps, and i might make more ;)
@MIGFOXHOUND31BSM26 i intentionally included the resource map just for the sake of land picking and future diplomatic decisions. It makes the RP a bit more exciting

@BlackGearCompany I can't use VK.com
Can you use image hosting that can be accessed by anyone? For mine i need to activate my vpn just to see the map. I have suggestion, how about you use vk.com? I always use that, but idk if other people could see it if the image hosting from vk.com.
.
That's my suggestion for now, imma check the map so i'll comment later after this/couple of minutes.
Why have I been tagged?
I told you I would stay with the smaller ones.
@B1
aye
more AR-15s to sell
@B1 And one more important question: what about Tungsten, Titanium, Molybdenum, Silicon, Zinc, Uranium, Thorium (although considering the year 1980, you can forget about Thorium), which are also very much needed in the economy and military industry
