after like 5 months of not playing, i decided to return in hopes of curing my skill issue
i am currently on USSR 5.7 but i plan on grinding a new nation like germany or sweden, or even continuing the grind on US
for now i am sticking to USSR, what tank should i play/grind?
EDIT: my problem is skill issue and the goddamn 6.7 uptiers
@Hooha12 That’s one particular BR. Air RB is terrible to its core.
@Graingy better than getting smothered by bmpts. And I play top tier arb, I have a good kd just by using f-15e spamming Amraams. Its nots as bad as people say
@Hooha12 Would be an essay.
In summary: enormous time to fighting altitude just to get kicked out by someone with a faster climb rate. That’s only one issue.
@Mrcooldude Exactly. Not exactly worth it.
@Graingy i had to remove two hard drives from my pc to do this
@Graingy explain
@Mrcooldude waste of electricity if you ask me.
@Hooha12 My disagreement is so great that I’m not even going to begin to explain why.
@RSH10Thunderbeam @Graingy i was running WT at ultra or whatever its called at 1080p with 60 fps
@RSH10Thunderbeam bro saying 67 (6.7)in 2026 is crazy
air battles so much better
@Randomplayer WHYYYYYY
@BOSKnight i dont. also slight skill issue
i oneshot a BMPT-72 with 105mm DM12
@Graingy of course not, i haven't even touched the USSR
edit: thats a lie, im only rank 2 BUT ONLY BECAUSE I WANTED THE ZIS-30
@Graingy yeah..
Fixed, don’t play higher than 9.7
@Randomplayer I hate you if you say yes to owning the bmpt.
My Leo 2A4 can’t do crap!
@BOSKnight Maus is fun AF in a downtier.
T32s are also excellent; I got a nuke with one the other day in a 7.7 match.
@Randomplayer You own a BMPT don’t you
@Randomplayer i don't think i will get to 10.7 before the BMPT dies off
Make sure to get to 10.7 asap, it’s filled with BMPT’s which has shit armour and shit cannons and all the new players are eating it up like crazy, it’s basically free kills
Dont play higher than 7.0
@RSH10Thunderbeam keep them low, they don’t aid you in any fashion. Only a decent fps and as high a resolution as possible matters.
Idk if any of what I said was useful or not. I’m willing to share more (potentially questionable) advice if needed.
@Graingy i use headphones and on medium graphics. can't set graphics higher otherwise my GPU breaks
Sorry about the rambling, I’m fairly new to the whole “not being completely useless” thing and I’m trying to both figure out how I did it and how to articulate that “how” to others.
I’m trying to be a bit more specific than the generic “just flank” BS when using tanks with less raw power.
The T-34-85 is, in my opinion, a worse M4 76. It’s not the invincible hellcat with a battleship gun that some people like to act like it is. It’s not that fast, the gun is rather weak, and the armour is useless against actual tanks save the driver hatch and trolly turret face.
All that aside, it can still kick ass. Ask me how I know ;)
@RSH10Thunderbeam ISU-122 should stay at 5.3. Just get the S; it’s 0.3 higher for a reason.
If it’s a Tiger II H (or just Tiger II as it’s called now) I’d say that’s the right call. Assuming it’s front-facing.
The thing about WT is that tactics and play style, even so much as how one handles thus controls, matters a lot.
Do you use headphones? Always use headphones.
How well can you see things on the screen? Is it 1080? Resolution and frame rate (to a point) are the only graphics settings which really matter. 60-90 for fps, as high as you can get for resolution.
Use binoculars religiously. Seriously.
I say all this because figuring out where a T2 is looking is very important. If you know where it’s looking you can figure out if you can expose yourself for a second. If you can expose yourself your a second, you can shoot the track.
That’s the bulk of what you can do head-on: shoot the track. Take control of the situation away. If you’ve good aim, shoot the barrel. If you’re looking down at a slight angle or have the better 85mm shell in the STP(?) or T-44, shoot the cupola.
The cupola needs a somewhat stronger gun, and it is small, but it CAN kill (as I was surprised to learn while using T-44).
Learning weak spots is the difference between trying to kill a Tiger I with APCR in the Jumbo 75 (and most definitely failing), and knowing to just shoot the cupola and annihilate the turret crew.
It’s the difference between trying to immobilize and side shot a Churchill VII with APCR in the KV-1 ZiS-5, or just shooting the angled turret roof and one-shotting it.
All this is to say that while a Tiger II is tough, it’s not unstoppable. Even knocking out the tracks can be the key for an ally with a better gun to roll up and end them.
@Graingy i once tried downtiering the ISU-122 by having my entire lineup to be 5.7 and it might have been a good idea
about the tiger IIs, most of the time i just get out of my spot because i can't pen them at ALL.
