The legend of the "Reaper"

The legend of the "Reaper"
owes its nominal coat of arms, the "Reaper", to the first DSV flight commander, Lieutenant Otto Grimm Richter.

During the historic battle over the Channel Strait, Richter was left alone against seven enemy machines. His missile attack equipment failed, he used the powerful 37mm cannon of his LH-1 to destroy enemies, making enemies feel fear and a sense of helplessness, they fell into a tailspin from the turbulent wake of his "Lightning".

Upon returning to base, Richter discovered that a shell fragment had stripped off the paint on the keel of his aircraft, leaving two deep scratches in the shape of an oblique cross. Looking at this sign, his mechanic noticed:
"Mr. Liuetinant, today you flew not as a pilot, but as a Reaper harvesting souls in the sky."

Richter took black paint and circled these scratches, adding to them a curve resembling a scythe blade. Since then, the Reaper emblem has been applied to all LH-1 aircraft of the DSV division.
Over time, for his services in battle, Richter was offered to add a sword to the scythe, he was not against it.

Today, the appearance on radar of the call sign "LH-1" paired with the DSV marking means only one thing: the sky belongs to the Reaper.
