With the success of the Mokker TSR (it's like 1970, please let me have the TSR) Bell Lands has gotten the inscentive that instead of agility, they should be going towards speed, and altitude.
So, the RBAF has opened a branch called The Royal Bellish Department of Hypersonic research.
And already, they're commencing development of a new aircraft, the Mokker M-500 Roadrunner
Which is planned to be a hypersonic, potentially upper air multipurpose fighter. There's also some insight about weapons, which shows that instead of using conventional missiles (large rocket motors and high explosive warheads), they're planning for a new type of missile, only called Kino-Rider , and it's supposed to hse sheer kinetick energy from the deployment to destroy aircraft, instead of a regular warhead.
There's still long ways to go, and lots of speculation, so be on the lookout if you see a tiny dot fly thru the sky at never-seen-before speeds :3
